Coconut Water

Coconut water is the clear liquid that’s inside young, green coconut.

I love my coconut water before or after my yoga sessions. It gives me the energy I need before my practice and re hydrates me after.

Coconut water is high in potassium and mineral content and has small amounts of carbohydrates, calories, and sodium. Some people say replacing coconut water as a sports drink may not give you the electrolytes you need to replace after sweating it out. If you need to replace electrolytes you could mix a pinch of salt (sodium) and a small amount of honey (carbohydrate) to your coconut water.

Coconut water is super hydrating and in my opinion the straight up variety is the best tasting.

My favourite way to drink coconut water is to add ½ cucumber and a glass of cocobella coconut water. Blend and enjoy.

Or add a few mint leaves and blend.

You can add juice of ½ a lemon to your coconut water to make it even healthier as both coconut water and lemon are alkalizing. This is beneficial for the body in a number of ways, such as it helps in digestion, controls blood sugar levels and helps promote healthy thyroid function.

Coconut water is claimed to:

Aid weight loss
Aid circulation
Fight viruses and bacteria
Improve immune system
Manage blood pressure
Improve skin tone and elasticity
Prevent dandruff
Break down kidney stones
Settle nausea and vomiting
Kill intestinal worms
Prevent and cure urinary tract infections
